As a project manager you drive the development of existing and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies within Hilti. In close cooperation with different stakeholders, you identify products and applications which can be improved radically by redesigning existing process chains and extending the frontiers of manufacturing technologies.

You’ll play an important role to bring major innovation in direct fastening (DX) product line by modelling and optimizing the complete application, including DX tool and consumables. You will investigate the working principles of the system in collaboration with our R&D experts and apply machine learning to find out the optimal design parameters. This position offers a gripping experience of cross functional role with simulation, testing and product development. Your task is to ideate, develop and test prototypes for new visionary product concepts. Existing concepts need to be evaluated and refined, followed by a corresponding proof-of-concept under laboratory and job-site conditions. This is an interdisciplinary technology task with focus on hands-on mentality and the spirit to think outside the box. Corrosion protection is key for all our fastening and installation products. You support the scientific and technical work in our competence area corrosion protection and work in our laboratories. Your tasks are planned and executed together with one of our experts. Besides testing the corrosion protection of the products you evaluate the results using modern metallographic equipment. Within your role you support a product related project in our competence area of tribology and in close collaboration with our R&D staff. Tribology is one of Hilti’s key competences to ensure outlasting and outperforming Hilti products. Your role is to investigate sealing systems and to analyze their behavior on specifically designed tribological test equipment. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to contribute with your ideas to our future sealing concepts. Duration: at least 3 months
Fastening on steel is a big application area of Hilti direct fastening technologies. Steel pins are driven with a tool within milliseconds into steel base material to fix gratings, installation equipment or for the use of electrical bonding and grounding. The products and applications are highly specified and the product performance is proven in various approval documents. To actively drive and form this business area for Hilti, new product ideas are constantly generated and need to be technically evaluated.
You will be working in a cross-functional team to help bring the next generation of battery nailers to life. You will develop and improve a simulation model which will reflect the real tool behavior. Based on the results, you will develop and implement concepts to improve and optimize the power electronics of the tool, and further differentiate our tools from the competition.
